Excellent piece here ! I saw the clip from Hitchens many years ago. I’ve never heard or seen him with such urgency in his voice. I miss him more than some of my own relatives.

I’m actually a hesitant American liberal. But damn…what I hear come out of the mouths of British and American Muslims leaves me in utter shock. It’s hard to talk about these people without sounding like a bigoted ass hole. And that’s their weapon.

I feel deeply for the pain of Jews.

Your definition of "the adults in the room" as a term used by imbeciles to describe other imbeciles with whom they agree, is priceless!

Very fair and true assessment of the situation, in my view. I mean, WHAT ON EARTH is wrong with these people?! What planet do they come from?!! Is it just that they are stupid? Well, they would have to be, wouldn't they? But I rather fear that there is more going on that; that there is a quite sinister evil at the heart of the modern Labour party. The next few years will be painful indeed for this beautiful nation of ours.

Weren’t conservatives in power for more than a decade? Maybe Brits needed a change ? The left in Britain 🇬🇧 is a lot like the American left when it comes to Islam. I’ll never understand it.

Indeed the con-servatives were in power for 14 years! It wasn't simply, I think, that Brits needed a change. It was rather that people who had previously voted Conservative couldn't in good conscience vote for them again. After all, why condone a complete and absolute betrayal?! The vote for Labour didn't increase. Quite the opposite actually. It was just that they benefitted from former conservative voters moving to Reform or not voting at all. Which is hardly to be blamed in the circumstances.

Thanks for educating me. I’ve always loved the British. Such a rich culture and a fascinating history.

I have felt this for many many years and am horrified when the main vote here in B’Ham is for the Labour Party! Such an ignorant - of all that is IMPORTANT to us here in our country - and lack lustre party. So OFTEN spending without thought far too much money and ending up BROKE!! There don’t seem to be more intelligent party members than stupid to balance the Labour Party at ALL!! G-d forbid we ever again vote in Labour!!!

Excellent analysis. This same species controls the US with the same tactics, while Islamic extremists maraud across the west right under our noses.

Reading more than 3 months after the date of this article and so many things have happened in the meantime (Southport and other attacks, the budget, the attempt to intervene in the US elections, many others) just shows very clearly how spot on your analysis is. Thank you!

Did you forget about Angela Rayner grovelling to a Mosque full of men, that when Labour is in power they will recognise a Palestinian State ?

Sadly, the Canadians, like the rest of the West did vote for, and tolerate, exactly this. We in effect loaded ourselves on to the trains that are now rattling down the tracks to our doom.

Hello Max,

Forgive me..it has been a HECTIC week, else I would have acquainted myself with ‘you’ earlier.

I perused a few of your articles earlier and am DULY ‘ impressed’ with your insights and range; your theses are compelling. Please account that as ‘unusual praise’ from someone who is reluctant - usually - to offer such unduly or unmerited.

The polarization seen about us - everwhere, now - is not entirely ‘Unknown’ in History, but it is certainly not the common denominator in Humanity’s past - recent or otherwise.

Many Scientists and Philosophers in recent years all draw attention to an ‘Approaching SINGULARITY’ in Humanity’s development - a point whereat the various graphs used to demonstrate primary metrics by which we assess Human progress turn abruptly vertical…and any predictive potential is meaningless.

Perhaps in this we see a factor impelling the various ‘lagging components’ of our species to extraordinary resistance to Peace…or even assurrd Safety…

Certainly, the Jihadist are NOT seeking Peace, but neither are the Globalists either; BOTH are essentially ‘Grasping at the Past’ and doing so to such an extent that it IS fast becoming a true EXISTENTIAL threat to the survival of the Species ITSELF.

But enough musing here…Salutations Sir!

Perhaps we can engage at a later point…

JOG

Excellent article, personally I blame the Tory’s for not being actual conservatives for 14 yrs and allowing the climate that we’re in now to be ripe for a woke a Labour govt to push their champagne socialist ideology. I would take issue with one point - there’s no such thing as anti-Muslim racism. Islam is a religion it a race of people. Although in saying that if folk can identify across sexes I’m sure they could across races. I think a more accurate term would be sectarianism. Sorry to be pedantic but language it’s important and they’d jump at any chance to be seen as victims of ‘racism’ - whatever that means these days

In fairness, the Republican nominee for vice-president also compared Trump to Hitler, so there's a lot of it about.

Trump has been everything. He flirted with the Reform Party for a while. Essentially he thought he’d like to be president, considered he might have a chance of achieving that, and everything thereafter was merely mechanics.

So of course that means Kamala is a brilliant candidate who will defend our freedom.

Eliot Wilson's avatar

No it doesn’t. Why would it mean that? The electorate has a binary choice in November but only an idiot would think that automatically equates to brilliant v terrible. Very often elections are terrible v more terrible.

Expand full comment
Diana Prince 🦸‍♀️'s avatar

Actually the choice IS binary. Look at the record of the last 4 years v the prior. The difference is stark. Kamala can string a few words together but otherwise an empty suit and empty head. She’s ready to do whatever the Democratic would-be tyrants tell her to. Just as they’ve been doing with Biden.
